Developing Sisters of Tomorrow
The Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter's long-standing premier event, Jabberwock, a musical variety show had come to an end after 25 years.
In 1972, it was re-launched as the Miss Delta Teen pageant, with the first pageant presented in the spring of 1973. Today the pageant has evolved to "Developing Sisters of Tomorrow" - The Miss Delta Teen Pageant. It focuses on the personal growth and development of teen girls in the 9th-12th grades.
Workshops and rehearsals are held that includes communication skills, educational, cultural, community service, and personal enrichment activities. The pageant also creates an opportunity for the young ladies to display their talents.
This event is a fundraiser for the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. All the funds raised are invested into the Jacksonville community through service projects and scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
