The Arts & Letters Committee of the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter will stimulate Chapter interests in the area of Arts and Letters and use its objectives and goals as a vehicle to foster chapter participation at special Arts events, as well as raise the awareness of the sorority's African-American influence in its community. Our goals and objectives are to positively reflect the "black experience" in the area of Arts and Letters via a minimum of bi-monthly chapter attendance at cultural, social and art events in the community, through the chapter Arts and Letters webpage, and via the Delta Bookmark initiative.

RED CARPET MOVIE PREMIER 'Truly Everlasting" On November 5th the red carpet was rolled out for the premier of “Truly Everlasting,” a feature film based on a novel by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Brenda Jackson. Hundreds of Brenda Jackson's fans from around the country, family members, friends, classmates (from as far back as 3rd grade!), and members of Delta Sigma Theta were at the historic Florida Theatre in Jacksonville, to view the film executive produced by Brenda and her husband Gerald, and directed by her son Gerald Jr. The entire city seemed to be involved in the production and came out to support one of Jacksonville's own.
Brenda Jackson is a generous supporter of the Jacksonville chapter’s Delta Teen Pageant and Betty Shabazz Academy and has attended Delta National Conventions promoting her novels. The night was full of entertainment, music and revelry. The film premiere also helped to raise money to benefit a scholarship foundation at Florida Memorial University in honor of Brenda’s grandmother and William M. Raines High School, Brenda’s alma mater.
